Keynote speaker - The Hon Brendan O'Connor MP
|
|
The Hon Brendan O’Connor MP, Minister for Skills and Training, will deliver a keynote at AIEC 2023 on Friday 13 October. After more than 20 years of ministerial positions in the Labor Party, Minister O’Connor was sworn in as the Minister for Skills and Training in June 2022. Since becoming Minister for Skills and Training, Minister O’Connor has led national reform of the VET sector to address critical skill shortage areas, improve the quality and relevance of training to Australian industries and to improve accessibility, diversity, and gender equality. He is also leading negotiations with States and Territories to deliver the National Skills Agreement and establishing Jobs and Skills Australia, a new agency that will lead skills planning for Australian industries. We look forward to hearing from the Minister on how these reforms and new policy initiatives will impact the international education sector and create better employment outcomes for our students.
