Pre-conference sessions will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Tuesday 10 October 2023. Whether you are new to the sector, or an experienced delegate, these sessions provide tools, resources, and industry insights to enhance your AIEC experience and strengthen your international education knowledge. They are also a terrific opportunity to make new connections prior to the conference start.

International Education 101 Info Session
Date/time: Tuesday 10 October, 1.30 to 4.30pm
Registration fee: $100
Whether you are new to AIEC or international education or just need a refresher, this informative session will provide you with the basics of international education in Australia and set you up for a successful AIEC. Presenters will introduce valuable tools and resources to update and refresh your knowledge. This will help you to identify and focus on professional development opportunities and ensure that the conference ahead is not a blur of unfamiliar acronyms and terminology.
This session is designed for you if: - this is your first time attending their first AIEC, or
- you have started working in international education within the past 18 months, or
- you would like to refresh your knowledge around international education basics.

International Education Data Masterclass
Date/time: Tuesday 10 October, 1.30 to 4.30pm
Registration fee: $100
For the more experienced delegate, this hands-on masterclass will be facilitated by experts in international education data and insights as well as market-based and academic research. Attendees will network with and learn from these experts as well as deepen their knowledge of a range of international education-related datasets. It is hands-on so be sure to bring your laptop!
This masterclass is designed for you if: - you have a minimum of three years’ experience in international education and regularly use international education datasets such as MIP and student visa data, or
- you have less industry experience within international education but have advanced data literacy skills.
